"While on my local Groupon page, I searched for "Safelite Auto Glass" and was presented with a coupon. Great! Pay $29 for $100 off auto glass. The problem was that they gave me a coupon for a different vendor "Safe Auto Glass", in another state, making it impossible to ever get any value out of the coupon. Well, great, I was an idiot, they took advantage of me. Live and learn, and be very cautious about dealing with Groupon, as they'll offer you "local" coupons from any location, despite logged in state.I wrote to them, and they responded saying that I had to return "local" coupons within 72 hours. Well, we'd been hit by a week-long ice storm and had to reschedule the glass installation. I only noticed the sly name change when I was printing it out. Again, I was stupid and they took advantage of that with bordering-on-fraudulent keyword searches. But still, my money, my responsibility. Groupon has my $29 for no goods or services, and that's just the way it is. However, this is where I became incredibly frustrated; they send me an email that says "We’re so glad we could resolve your issue today!". To me, having just been told "too bad, so sad", this seemed a self-congratulatory, perky email about how proud they are of themselves to have screwed me over! Yay for them!So I sent another email saying I thought that was incredibly rude. Their response? They just forwarded the original "haha we're keeping your money, dummy, that's what you get" email. Without another single word, because I do not matter, and they want to make sure I know that I'm not worth a single "oh sorry, perhaps we worded that badly" response. So....no. Don't deal with Groupon. If something goes wrong, you'll be hung out to dry...that's bad. But it would have cost them nothing to A), not send that stupid follow up email and B) then, when they did send an inappropriately perky email, it wasn't necessary to ensure that I knew that my concerns were so boring, they couldn't be bothered to write another word in response. "

False advertising and refusal to issue a refund
"groupon advertised a deal as local when it wasn't, and advertised it using the title of a local business so I bought it thinking it was something else. They refused to issue a refund. Never buying groupon again."

"I purchased a groupon for a hair salon, scheduled my appointment then discovered after my appointment that the groupon was for a specific stylist (not the person I had my appointment with). I contacted groupon with almost immediate response and was provided with a trade for the amount paid and have now purchased an additional service. So, while it didn't work out perfectly initially the customer service response (time and attitude) provided by Vignesh was indeed wonderful. "

"Groupon has provided me with nothing short of impecible customer service any time I needed to reach out to them. They offer great deals and most of the time I buy and use my Groupons without a hitch. The few times there was a glitch or any static with a vendor Groupon always supported me and made it right. That gives me the confidence to continue to buy groupons and explore new businesses. If I didn’t have that confidence I’m positive I would buy less groupons in general. Knowing I’m not throwing my money down a drain is key and they have ALWAYS been able to sort out any disputes for me with grace and positivity. I really appreciate the customer service above all with this company. I also will say I LOVE the app and that they take Apple Pay. I look forward to buying many more exciting Groupon experiences for years to come!"

"I had purchased a groupon deal by accident... I hit the buy button forgetting that I had a card linked to the account. It charged me right away, but it was just something I was thinking about. I called an hour later and was helped very graciously with my issue. My card was refunded immediately, which was great. I buy a lot on Groupon and Living Social and will continue to do so."
