Business closed two weeks after purchase and Groupon won't refund
"Why would a restaurant offer a Groupon two weeks before they were closing? Tried six times to do a live chat with Groupon at different times of day only to be told no agents were available and to check later. When I tried calling, I was informed calls were not accepted. Upon being notification via email, Groupon responded I could do a trade-in only until the date Groupon expired rather than a refund or credit. When I tried to book the same chain, but different location, Groupon informed me I could only get a "trade for 66% of what I paid! They also mentioned the Groupon was expired though it's good until September 22, six weeks away. When I tried emailing again asking why, I received an email saying they were excited to know they corrected issue and to please fill out this survey. Evidently, they don't read what is written and have grown too large to respond to customers! Never again!"

Precautions with personal services
"I paid for a mani- pedi service in the amount of $43.60 for a $90 service value. I was unable to contact the vendor via website or by phone. To investigate on my own, I went to the address and the person didn’t exist. I did received a refund in Grouponbucks. I will not use personal services on this site for refund and health reasons. I will continue to use Groupon for products (only)."
Groupon Shows No Compassion Nor Understanding
"The old saying "you get what you pay for" just doesn't work anymore. When you pay for something- you should get that OR you should get your money returned. There should NOT be a "Reseller" or "Reselling" option. You should have the money go BACK onto a credit card stored in your profile. PERIOD. If a business cannot POST pertinent information such as the NUMBER OF STAFF MEMBERS who are working on the weekend (other than calling them and finding out that they just have 1 staff member working) - then, that business should NOT be allowed to post ANY advertisement on Groupon. We do our research, look up the company online and it's like you have to go through all these hoops and jump over all these hurdles JUST TO GET THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE that you want. Pathetic. C'mon Groupon - hire me for your Internet Client Relationships Manager to get you all in order. Pathetic!!!"

"I have had Groupons expire, not gotten ordered products, and been dissatisfied with a purchased product from a Groupon merchant, but EVERY SINGLE TIME Groupon came through with a quick, easy, even friendly response, resolution, and/or refund! I LOVE Groupon! I am always happy with their customer service and only wish that other companies would follow Groupon's lead in making sure customers are satisfied either with the purchase or with customer service! I've been waiting 3 days for Groupon to respond to my request for refund.
"I purchased a hotel room at the Baymont Hotel in Spokane Valley. Upon check in, the only room remaining at 10 pm was not being offered to the public had has been "scrubbed". the carpets were still drying and the room had no ventilation. We declined spending the night in a musty, damp room with no ventilation and contacted Groupon in the days following. I'm still waiting to hear about a refund. "

Expired deal trade in

"I purchased a product I was unhappy with. First Groupon said I must get a refund from the merchant, and the merchant was not willing to give me a refund. Then when I expressed dissatisfaction with Groupon as I made my purchase through them, they issued a refund right away. It was easy and convenient. I was very impressed with how they resolved my problem. Thanks Groupon!"
Why does Groupon send a “buy again” email when the vendor only allows one visit per customer?
" I was trying to use up some Groupon Bucks because that I was issued because a previous vendor went out of business, so after an amazing pedicure using some of my Bucks, Groupon sent me an email to “buy again”, which I did. Turns out the vendor doesn’t allow a repeat visit, and Groupon won’t credit back the Groupon Bucks into my account and now I am stuck with it."

"Had a Groupon voucher which would expired mid-September. Tried contacting vendor to arrange for an appointment; however, after many tries was unsuccessful. Contacted Groupon customer support, they got the vendor to contact me. Unfortunately the vendor informed me that they had no availability until after mid-September; thus, I contacted Groupon customer support once again with the information given by the vendor. Groupon customer service was very helpful and let me trade in my voucher for another vendor. Thank you Groupon."

They promise you "the amount paid will never expire" but cannot deliver...
"When a merchant refused to honor a Groupon that had expired last year, they told me, "I'm sorry we can't help you because the Groupon is expired." Hello? You make a big deal about this and state right on your web page, "Did you forget to use this? Don't worry, the amount paid never expires!" But if you can't deliver on this promise you are lying and misleading your customers. When I pushed back the rep offered me a $5 credit ("for my trouble") when I paid $10. Don't buy a Groupon unless you're SURE you're going to use it. Merchants don't like to honor their guarantee."
Ripped off and angry
"I ordered two tickets for The Gray Line hop-on hop-off tour in New York City for Saturday July 27th 2018 I paid for the Groupon for the two tickets I got the receipt for the tickets but I could not open the voucher I contacted Groupons customer service chat spoke with seeralan k, vikas bodraans seelan who all three stated they could not help me they tried sending me links to access the voucher but their links would not work I explain this to them ask them to just send me a copy of the voucher so that I could access my tickets by the time they resolve my issue it was after 6 p.m. and my tickets were expired they would not credit me or issue a new tickets because my tickets were only good until 6 p.m. and they were non-refundable I did not get the service I paid for due to the fact that I did not get the link to my phone when I try to access the voucher all I saw was a blank screen by the time someone did send me a link that I could actually open it was 7 p.m. actually 7:30 p.m. my tickets were already expired I am seriously considering never using Groupon again because of this"
