"I love this school. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. My daughter is in love with her teacher and vice versa but it gets to be a little too expensive. I wish they were willing to work with lower income families a bit more rather than saying we can't bring our child because we can't afford it that week. But other than the cost of it all and how that's set up, I love this daycare."
"I love this school because they treat my daughter like one of the family. She is happy to go in everyday. The staff really love and care about her."
"good experience overall have only been at the center for about 2 months"
"We appreciate the kindness of the Assistant Director and thank her for allowing us the tour and visit. Unfortunately, we dont feel that this facility is the best setting for our children and will be choosing childcare elsewhere."
"Unfortunately we walked away feeling like we would be putting our child in baby prison if we chose to enroll our child here. It was a little puzzling that the director did not know the specific education credentials of the person designing the education curriculum, especially in Lawrence, a college town where you might expect parents to be pretty well educated and be interested in those kind of credentials. I was curious to know that the staff had or at least was being trained by folks who had pretty strong early child development credentials."
"Very positive experience at the 6th street location. All lead teachers we have had have been very warm, and obviously care deeply for all children, including ours. The director or staff always have a warm welcome, and always seem to take great interest in the child's day."
"I didn't feel comfortable with leaving my child under the care of this facility. From the director being new to the facility, I do not feel confident in the care, cleanliness, or full safety for my only child. Once a week cleaning does not seem sufficient enough for me."
"For this school to remain relevant, it will need to bring in some experienced teachers and start keeping staff for more than 6 months at a time."
"I was very impressed with a couple teachers in the 18-24 month part of my child's life, but they quickly moved on to other private schools in the area, leaving new teachers who barely seem to be able to spell. Always having been extremely verbally advanced, I tried to get my child's new Twos teacher to challenge her every day at least once but repeatedly failed. I arrived to school one afternoon to find my daughter playing with a doctor's kit (of which we have several at home). The teacher rushed over to me and my daughter to talk about the day. My daughter turned the doll over to say she was going to check its bottom now. The teacher instead heard her say I'm going to shake my bottom now, and gleefully chimed in, YES! That's what we learned today! To shake our bottoms! and grabbed my daughter by the hips and shook them back and forth while laughing. While this is just one isolated incident, it perfectly sums up the everyday interactions I see with teachers. My child used to come home and teach me new songs and surprise me by counting to ten in Spanish. Now she comes home and pretends to change diapers for an hour and cries every single day I leave her. My child's new primary teacher in the preschool room (since moving up after turning three) has barely even acknowledged my presence or my role in my child's life. I am thoroughly unimpressed with the non-education she is receiving and have been scrambling wildly for the past six months to get her into a different school. While on vacation this past week, I received one whole days' worth of PreciousStatus updates on my child - who had been sitting next to me at Disneyland all day that day!I am afraid the pay at LaPetite isn't enough to either attract or retain any qualified professionals and will never recommend this school to any of my fellow colleagues."
"I absolutely love receiving the notifications of the activities they are doing for the day and pictures, updates on him, what he has eaten and how much. It really makes my day go by quicker knowing that he is having fun and being taken care of very well!"
"All of the teachers and management are always friendy and welcoming. My kid has fun and the teacher communication is great."
"My family loves La Petite. The staff is so involved in our lives. My children love their teachers and are excited to go to school each day."
"In general, we had a unhappy experience with the school. We were recommended by a friend who sent her two boys there, but her boys were about 3-6 years old, so probably the prschoolers' experience will be different from my experience of the infant room at this location."
