Found a new PC vendor for our software development business

"After using a competitor of iBuypower and becoming frustrated with many aspects of that company, I went looking for another vendor from whom I could customize a system. From the ordering through the build and to the delivery (and my subsequent setup for my user,) it has been a textbook version of great customer service. I had sent a note about some of the issues we had with our former vendor, and Andrea Castillo from iBuypower's customer service department very promptly responded. She walked the process fully through from that point and kept me completely informed. And this was in addition to their automatic information updates which are also excellent.

I not only would recommend iBuypower (and Andrea) to anyone desiring a great machine, but I have definitely found our new PC vendor going forward. Excellent company!

Pros and Cons

Best "bang for the buck" gaming computer I was able to find on the internet.
Customer service was helpful, and offered a discount and expedited shipping.
Ability to completely configure, and change configuration before order shipped.
Warranty policy.

Took Approximately 1 month from order date to initially receive the computer.
Computer arrived with bad hard drive and bad graphics card so had to return immediately for repairs.
Computer did not arrive with RGB lighting strip. Had to contact iBuyPower and have it shipped later.
Arrived with Acer GPU instead of Nvidia GPU, although this is minor because technically they are basically the same.
Did not receive fully functional computer until approximately 2 months after order date.

"@iBUYPOWER sends me an upgraded install of Windows on my primary SSD, wasting valuable space and set it for read only.
Support call with sergio & jeff was another COMPLETE waste of time adding to the time it will take me to do a PROPER install of my Windows10.

I will NEVER purchase from this company again. Their internal AND external communication methods are not acceptable.

"I ordered my Computer over the weekend, however my address on my card did not exactly match which caused the payment to not be approved. I received 1 email as notification. I called the Representative listed in the email 3 times and left 2 voice mails over the course of 4 days. He did not call me back once. I am convinced this person does not exist.

After a day of waiting, I called customer support, we fixed the address issue and I found out my power supply was not in stock. We found a replacement and the order was resubmitted. 3 days later, there were no updates.

I called Customer support back, they let me know the NEW power supply was out of stock and they could not start. I asked them why I was not notified and the customer support rep said "I'm not sure". so again, we had to get a new power supply.

I waited 3 MORE days with no updates. I called Customer support AGAIN to find out, the NEW power supply was not in stock. Fine, we picked another one just to get the build going.

3 more days pass with no updates, the representative said there was an issue with my order and now the RAM and some of my cables were no longer in stock. Again, we had to get new parts to fill the order.

3 MORE days passed without an update, I called back AGAIN and requested a supervisor to call me. the supervisor never called me after 4 hours of waiting so I called BACK. The representative said "I can see him at his desk, I'm not sure why he didn't call you back but I will try to get you a different supervisor".

I finally talked to a supervisor and asked if there was any possible way to keep an eye on the order or if he could personally update me by giving me a call or an email tomorrow, he said word for word " theres no point in checking the order after a few hours" they don't do that and there was no possible way he could update me OR contact the account office OR the warehouse to hold my parts. I asked what I could do on my end to help out and he said " Sir, you just have to patient" .

I waited again and called back the next day, the rep said "there's something going on with your order where its not being approved" so i asked for a supervisor call back. The supervisor then told me some of the paper work for my power supply was not filed correctly from 6 DAYS AGO and is now out of stock and the build cant be started. He also mentioned it was after 1pm pacific time so there was absolutely no way to start the build today.

I had absolutely no choice but to cancel my 2200+ dollar order!! * I ALSO PAID FOR RUSH DELIVERY!!! THEY TOLD ME RUSH DELIVERY WAS THE HIGHEST PRIORITY POSSIBLE*

I could not imagine the computer arriving and not working correctly, then having to work with this company again. This has been a total nightmare and by far the WORST company / customer support experience I have ever had.

This company has a very serious problem with internal AND external communication. I asked if there was any possible way I could give feedback and the supervisor said " Well you can just tell me" which we all know would not solve anything.

In total, I spent 11 days, 13 phone calls and 6 hours of my own personal time trying to correct this issue. I went ABOVE AND BEYOND to give this company my money. I honestly cannot explain in words how disappointed I am. I am a huge gamer and on top of it, I WORK IN CUSTOMER SUPPORT MYSELF. I am honestly blown away at this experience. I will NEVER under any circumstance order from this company again. Everybody I talked to genuinely did not care at all about me as a customer.

"So, the first thing that was wrong was the 24pin wire set for the mother board was the wrong color combo due to the all black being out of stock, but one Mr. Jeff Van set that straight and I have a replacement coming just as soon as iBuypower has some on hand. The other issue is I had a high dollar vid card with only one dvi output. I was so confused. So I asked Jeff about this and right off the top of his head w/o looking anything up he informed me that there are little rubber plugs covering the other outputs. I totally missed it and was starting to think that this was not what I had wanted to purchase after all. All in all I was super pleased with my phone call and Jeff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you again Jeff."

Outstanding customer service throughout process!

"I am 47 years old and although I have some background in putting computer systems together in my past, I have admittedly seen PC technology pass me by over the past decade. I have teenage kids that play pc games and was wanting a current system that would run everything they want to play at high levels and not need significant upgrades for next 3 years. I reviewed many retailers online and settled on iBUYPOWER.

After going through the online steps to customize my build, I was uncertain if I was getting the best value and was selecting the right parts for my goals. I called customer service to talk through the details and was directed to Torey Yamanaka, Customer Service/Sales rep. I explained my situation and concerns to Torey and he walked me through every item I had proposed for the build, my goals, the kind of software the kids are running and what my price-point was. He helped me re-spec to the exact build that was needed without spending money on things I didn't need. Example I had specified more system RAM than was really necessary but not as much harddrive space as I would have needed. He also made me aware of several "offers" that saved me over $200 on the build that I had no idea existed!

After I had placed the order, the PSU I had spec'd was on back-order. I received an immediate email notifying me of the issue and directing me to call Torey and he helped me respec to another PSU that was slightly better than what I had originally wanted without an upcharge! And this kept my build on-schedule (versus waiting for the backordered part) which was important to me. Then, without even needing me to ask, he looked at the timing of the build in general and moved it up in the que to expedite the process!

System arrived earlier than I had expected. Shipping/packaging was very good. A mouse I ordered was also back-ordered so it didn't arrive with the CPU but that was extremely minor to me and in no way spoiled the process.

Throughout the entire process, I was listened to, handled with respect (even though I had many questions and didn't fully understand the tech), and never was left wondering what was happening. Outstanding customer service! Superb attitude! I have already referred a friend in a similar circumstance who intends to purchase a similar system in the very near future.

Thank you, Torey! You took the stress and uncertainty out of the process and exceeded my expectations at every turn!

At the beginning I was confused about some things to do with the way that the payment was made and she made sure to keep track of where my shipment was and that all of the i's were dotted and t's were crossed.
